This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

Presented on a dark background, the illustration depicts a patent for a merry-go-round, as indicated by the title and patent number 446,134, dated January 20, 1891. The top half shows a side elevation view featuring horses on a rotating platform, while the bottom half displays a detailed plan view of the mechanical components. Signatures of witnesses and the inventors, W.D. Cronin and C.B. Adams, are visible at the bottom.
